Stoltenberg announced NATO's commitment to the principle of "open doors" for new countries

“We have made it clear that we will not compromise on our core principles,” Stoltenberg said at a briefing.

According to him, one of these principles implies that "any country has the right to choose its own path."

On January 26, Stoltenberg announced that the alliance, in parallel with the United States, had given Russia a written response to security proposals.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also said that the United States would not give up on NATO's "open door" principle.
