Ukraine crisis Pedro Sánchez does not contemplate calling Pablo Casado and has been eight months without talking to him about anything
Podcast Ukraine from Spain: What is really our role?
Since the phone did not ring and was not going to ring, Pablo Casado has taken the step and called the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, on Wednesday to address the crisis in Ukraine in the face of the threat of a Russian invasion.
The leader of the opposition has ratified the support of the PP in this matter and has asked for unity within the Government.
Sánchez and Casado had not had a conversation for eight months.
Then, as now, it occurred at the initiative of the leader of the PP, in the context of the crisis caused in Ceuta in May 2021 after Morocco facilitated the illegal entry of thousands of people.
Genoa sources point out that Casado has once again taken the initiative out of "responsibility" because they understand that the situation in Ukraine is a matter of state.
In a brief note, the PP has informed of the call and that in it Casado "has reiterated all the support of the PP to exercise its obligations within the framework of NATO."
However, he has demanded that Sánchez manage "greater transparency" in this crisis and has expressly asked him to heed the PP's request to appear in Congress to inform political groups and all citizens.
