The Polish department wrote about this on its Twitter page.

“The construction of a barrier on the Polish-Belarusian border has begun.

Today, the Border Guard handed over construction sites to contractors,” the statement said.

It is noted that the length of the barrier under construction will be 186 km, and the cost will be 1.6 billion zlotys.

“This is the biggest investment in the history of the Border Guard,” the statement says.

Earlier, the press secretary of the chief commandant of the Polish Border Guard, Anna Michalskaya, said that the Polish side would begin the construction of barrier structures on the border with Belarus on January 25.
