An international survey shows that more than one in three young people feel depressed due to concerns about climate change.

Universities around the world have in recent years started research on climate anxiety, and in Linköping they are now making an effort to provide treatment to people who feel bad because of that type of anxiety.

Emma Byggeth is one of the students in the research group.

- We have noticed that many students talk about this with climate anxiety, and do not really know how to deal with it.

Hundreds should be able to get help

Of those who register for the treatment, a number are selected for interview, and some are accepted for the treatment.

The treatment will consist of exercises the participants receive via a website, and then email contact with psychologists.

Emma Byggeth says that the research group expects to be able to treat up to 100 people at a time.

Each treatment is for eight weeks.
