He called on the military to ensure the personal safety of Burkina Faso's president.
Guterres called on everyone to exercise restraint and choose dialogue.
The United Nations reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the constitutional order in Burkina Faso and reiterated its support for the people of Burkina Faso in their efforts to find solutions to the multifaceted challenges facing the country.
