In an email to Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren (S), Pia Pudas has expressed her thoughts on the professional title of assistant nurse.

They are part of the team as much as nurses, doctors, and everyone else, says Pia Pudas.
In Finland, the occupational group has the title caregiver - something that Pia Pudas thinks could be used in Sweden.

"Do not interpret it as something negative"
Zara Leghissa, department chair for Kommunal Norrbotten, sees no problems with the title of assistant nurse.
- I do not interpret it as something negative.
One could interpret it as the assistant nurse doing wonders as well.
The problem today is that as an assistant nurse you do not have the conditions to work with what you have been trained for and to practice your profession fully.
Not the title itself.
Zara Leghissa thinks that the professional title should now be protected is a step in the right direction.
- With a certificate, employers can not choose a found-in title.
