The Danes, Olympic vice-champions in Tokyo and double world champions, brilliantly validated their ticket by crushing the Netherlands (35-23).

In a match dominated from start to finish, Mikkel Hansen's teammates further asserted their status as favorites for final victory in six days, for a third European title after 2008 and 2012.

They will face France on Wednesday in a remake of the final of the Olympic Games in Tokyo six months earlier for a final day that will be crucial for the Blues.

Two days after the correction received against Iceland, the French corrected the situation against Montenegro, winning 36 to 27. Earlier in the afternoon, the reigning Olympic champions received a blow from thumb of fate.

Croatia, already eliminated in the race for the semi-finals, overcame Iceland after a match full of suspense.

The Icelanders first took the lead, but the teammates of Ivan Pesic, author of a great game in his cage (14 saves) reversed the trend, going to lead up to +5 a quarter of an hour from the end (19-14).

But the Icelanders, full of resources, managed to pick up the score, until Ante Gadza's saving goal for Croatia in the very last seconds, while Elvar Asgueirsson had missed the target just before.

This defeat opens the door to the last four for the French, who can settle for a draw against Denmark on Wednesday (8:30 p.m.) to qualify.

They could even be sure to see the last four if Iceland do not beat Montenegro a little earlier (3:30 p.m.).
