Elderly couple were found dead in Nybro - the criminal suspicions have been written off

- The preliminary investigation is no longer conducted as a criminal investigation, says Robert Loeffel, police spokesman in the South region.

On Sunday, January 16, police and rescue services were alerted to the couple's home.

Unclear circumstances led the police to initially start a preliminary investigation with the heading murder.

But after the police read the forensic report, all criminal suspicions are now dismissed. 

- We will not provide any more information about the case with the relatives in mind, but it will be handled as a death investigation without crime, says Robert Loeffel.
