Regina King
is devastated after
the tragic death
by suicide of
her son Ian King,
which has coincided
with the day of the celebration of
his 26th birthday
on January 19. The sad end of the young man has been
confirmed by
People
magazine
after speaking with sources close to the family. Through an official statement, the artist
remembered her son with love
and asked the media for respect and privacy in the face of the hard times she is going through: "Our family is deeply shattered by the loss of Ian.
He was a bright light
who cared about the happiness of others. We ask for privacy. Thank you."
Although not everyone was aware of the
young man's emotional problems,
Regina herself emphasized the idea of the great level of concern that Ian had for everything around him.
As has been known, Regina's only son had decided
to follow in the musical footsteps of his father,
record producer Ian Alexander, and had started
his DJ career
with relative success.

Last year, on the occasion of his mother's 50th birthday, the young man congratulated her, extolling the figure of the artist in his life:
"Happy birthday to my partner,
I am very proud of you and I feel inspired by your art and your love! To have witnessed the way
you have faced life
and how you have carried it out makes me feel very grateful. To be able to have you as a mother is the greatest gift I could ask for. To be all that you are and to have Always time to be there,
loving me and supporting
me unconditionally is something incredible. You are a true superhero.
I love you mom, this
and every day of my life! " Some words without a doubt full of love that demonstrate the
great connection
between mother and son. A special relationship between the two that they wanted to materialize by getting
a nice matching tattoo
with the expression "unconditional love" written in Aramaic: Ian on his shoulder and the actress on her arm.
How could it be otherwise,
the signs of affection
towards Regina, by friends and celebrities have been countless. Thus, artists of all kinds publicly expressed their feeling of support, such as
Viola Davis
, Regina's great friend who wrote: "I'm lifting you up and holding you. I love you Regina King and I'm so sorry." Behind her, others like
Cynthia Bailey
of
The Real House
who published: "Disheartening.
I send my condolences
to Regina King and her family", or
Josh Gad
launching his wish for King. "My love, my prayers, my thoughts, my everything goes out to Regina King and her family tonight.
My heart breaks.
I send you all my light" or the actress's co-star in
227 Jacke Harry
: "Nothing but prayers tonight".
