The attack on the Gweiran prison - where as many as 3,500 IS members, many of whom are foreign fighters, are sitting - began on Thursday and is still ongoing.

- This is among the most dangerous people that IS has had, it is heavily criminal jihadists who are experts in what they do, says Shiyar Ali.

According to him, at least 80 IS fighters and around 25 Kurdish soldiers, civilians and prison staff, have died in the fighting.

- There are people left inside the prison and we do not know what happened to them.

I have seen pictures from IS where people have been taken hostage.

But we do not know if they are alive or if they have died.

"The biggest operation since we defeated IS"

In addition to the Gweiran prison, two more smaller prisons have been attacked, according to information to SVT News.

This is confirmed by Shiyar Ali.

- This is the largest operation since we defeated IS militarily.

At the same time, Shiyar Ali says that the Kurds have long warned of the situation.

- There have been several attempts in the last two years, but this was the biggest thing with planning both outside and inside the prison.

This is a warning to the whole world.

The Kurds, who played a crucial role when IS was defeated, have previously expressed disappointment that Western countries have refused to take home their IS travelers.

- These countries must take their responsibility.

We can not handle this ourselves.

The UN, the EU, the USA and the coalition against terrorism, which includes Sweden, must act.

And it must happen quickly, otherwise the situation will worsen, he says and continues:

- We've said it before and now we have the proof: this is a ticking bomb.

This attack has claimed many victims and we are not prepared to sacrifice our people to protect the outside world from terrorists.

"They are hiding among civilians"

According to information to SVT Nyheter, at least four Swedish IS members are imprisoned in the Gweiran prison, but Shiyar Ali has no information about them.

About 500 have fled, some have died and some have been recaptured.

We do not know exactly how many people take part in the fighting, but there have been car bombs and rocket attacks.

- They are also hiding among civilians, we fear that this may require many victims.
