It is specified that a letter was sent to Mishustin on January 20, which was signed by about 30 representatives of hotel business associations.

In their opinion, the initiative proposed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) contradicts the market nature.

“The draft federal law contradicts current legislation, creates new significant risks ... worsens the investment climate and the prospects for the implementation of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry national project,” the copy of the letter available to RIA Novosti says.

As the agency points out, in September 2021, the FAS prepared a draft on amending the law on the basics of tourism activities.

The document provides for limiting the growth in prices for hotel services during particularly significant international events.

Earlier, the head of the domestic tourism committee of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Ilya Umansky previously named the new leaders of domestic tourism.
