It is only five years since Oliver Solberg drove his first rally competition.

A lot has happened since then.

Quickly.

Factory debut

This year he has taken the step up to Hyundai's factory team in the worst class Rally1 and the Monte Carlo rally will be his first competition in the new hybrid car that replaces the WRC models used for 25 years, of which the last generation was driven 2017-2021.

- It is difficult to understand, a dream come true, says Solberg.

Most experienced in the starting field

At the other end of the spectrum is the map reader Jonas Andersson from Gunnarskog.

The 45-year-old makes his eleventh start in Monte Carlo, his debut was in 2004 together with PG Andersson, and is the map reader with the most World Cup routine of all in the competition's starting field.

Jonas Andersson now reads notes for the British Gus Greensmith, one of M-Sport Ford's Rally1 drivers.

In the video, Oliver Solberg and Jonas Andersson talk about the feelings before an uncertain World Cup premiere with new cars and reflect on their respective trips in the circus.
