According to media reports such as "United Daily News" and China Times News, the foundation's statistics, excluding abuse, sexual assault and other categories, there will be a total of 200 child-related accident news in Taiwan in 2021, of which a total of 58 children under the age of 14 were killed. 235 hurt.
Traffic accidents remain the leading cause of child deaths and injuries, with 81 children killed or injured.
The Jingjuan Foundation stated that most of the related traffic accidents were caused by children being thrown away because the vehicles were not equipped with safety equipment.
Therefore, the Foundation calls on parents to use seat belts and safety seats correctly to prevent such tragedies; children under the age of 2 must ride in a rear-facing safety seat when riding in a car to avoid serious casualties caused by the whiplash effect.
