Good evening,

Minister criticizes Minister:

As leader of the opposition in the Hessian state parliament, she once found harsh words for him. Today it's often the other way around. Enabling more regular migration with a so-called coalition of the willing: This is the credo that the SPD politician and new Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser is currently formulating when she is asked for answers to the urgent questions in asylum and refugee policy. And the Hessian Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) criticizes them for it. The federal government should ensure that asylum procedures are accelerated and obstacles to deportation are removed, said the CDU politician on Thursday. He also told Ewald Hetrodt, the state parliament correspondent of the Rhein-Main-Zeitung,that the Hessian security authorities deported a total of 935 people last year and, with 340 people, around a fifth more criminals than in 2020. How did this happen? The purchase of PCR test devices helped: the authorities of a number of countries of origin make the submission of current, negative test evidence for the corona virus a condition for admission. But there are other hurdles standing in the way of deportations than an unclear health status. In Hesse, for example, according to the interior minister, there are currently almost 6,500 people who are not entitled to protection in so-called toleration because travel documents are not provided or their identity is not certain. The authorities of a number of countries of origin make the submission of current, negative test evidence for the corona virus a condition for admission. Activists announce protests:

In order to demonstrate against road traffic, action groups have announced several abseiling actions on Hessian motorways.

These had been requested from the authorities as demonstrations and partially approved, according to climate protection groups' websites on Thursday.

In Frankfurt, an action on the A 648 at the Römerhof bridge is planned for Friday afternoon, further actions are to follow on January 23 on the A 7 in Künzell near Fulda and on the A 648 in Gießen.

The city of Frankfurt prohibited abseiling on Friday.

The bridge railing is not stable enough for this, and there is a risk of death when abseiling.

But a meeting can take place.

Before the action on Thursday, the Hessian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HIHK) expressed its concern that demonstrations of this kind could disrupt the routes necessary for commercial and goods traffic. The reason for the announced protests is a trial in Frankfurt against activists who had abseiled down highways without permission in 2020.

What to do with free time:

Theater? Movie theater? To eat out? Whatever you don't want to do at home - it's not easy at the moment. The incidences are high, many are holding back these days. But you can also go out into the fresh air. And follow the weekly hiking recommendation of the Rhein-Main-Zeitung, this time it leads to Mömlingen. To celebrate its 1200-year existence, the Odenwald-Ort has been given a general makeover. That was four years ago, but it's still beautiful in the fertile Mümling valley. If you want to put it to the test, follow Thomas Klein's tip.

And in addition

, the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Hessian state police succeeded in striking the international drug trade, after searches in the greater Gießen and Marburg areas there were four arrest warrants, a 45-year-old man is said to have organized the import of more than ten kilograms of heroin +++ in Hesse, those in need of care have to pay up to 2122 euros themselves for care in homes, 90 euros more than in 2021, says the association of substitute funds +++ a dog was run over and killed in Erbach that was supposed to cross a street on its owner's leash , the police are looking for witnesses.

Stay alert, stay healthy, stay with us

Another tip for the weekend

How about a really extensive visit to the swimming pool?

The kids would definitely like that too.

And they don't necessarily need one of these modern fun pools with their huge slides and other gadgets.

In a classic pool like the beautiful art nouveau pool in Darmstadt, the little ones have just as much fun.

The pool, which opened in 1909 on Mercksplatz, has shone in new splendor since the renovation in 2008, from the former men's swimming pool to the baby pool and the spa area to the heated outdoor pool.
