According to the senator, we are talking about an increase in the size of the pension in connection with an increase in the level of inflation.

Thus, there should not be a depreciation of pensions compared to last year, Bibikova noted.

“If the increase was 1,000 rubles within the framework of the adopted law and in January the increased pension was 5.9%, now it’s 8.6% - this is a difference of about 400-500 rubles,” the source explained to RT.

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma adopted in the third, final reading an amendment on the indexation of pensions in Russia by 8.6% from January 1, 2022.

According to the Ministry of Finance, additional costs for indexation of citizens' pensions in 2022 will amount to 172.7 billion rubles.
