It hinted at the nuclear test and re-launch of ICBM-class missiles, which North Korea had been refraining from.

North Korea announced on the 19th that it had held a meeting of the Politburo presided over by General Secretary Kim Jong-un and decided to quickly review the issue of resuming all activities that had been temporarily suspended.

At a plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee in April 2018, North Korea announced that it would dismantle its nuclear test site and suspend nuclear tests and ICBM test launches.

North Korea said that it had decided to completely reconsider the confidence-building measures it had taken with the United States, and re-emphasized the defense policy tasks to strengthen and develop more powerful physical means to firmly subdue the US hostile actions against North Korea without delay.

North Korea claimed that despite efforts made to ease the situation on the Korean Peninsula after the US-DPRK summit in Singapore, the U.S. hostile policy and military threats had reached a point of danger that could no longer be tolerated.

The Rodong Sinmun reported that they had come to the conclusion that they should be more thoroughly prepared for a long-term confrontation with the United States, and that they should move on to actual actions to further strengthen North Korea's physical strength.

North Korea insisted that the current administration of the United States is persistently clinging to actions to negate North Korea's right to self-defense, and insisted that the hostile policy toward North Korea will continue as long as the hostile entity of the United States exists.
