On Wednesday afternoon, the Riksdag decided to extend the pandemic law.

The Liberals were the only party to vote against the extension.

This is because the party thinks that the government has abused the pandemic laws.

- We believe that today's restrictions are not proportionate to today's spread of infection.

Omikron is a much milder virus.

With omikron, most people do not get so ill that they need to overload healthcare, says party leader Nyamko Sabuni in SVT's Aktuellt.

L: Wants to take back power

Sabuni says that the Riksdag must take back power from the government.

- The government has been given a power that is very exceptional and unique in Swedish democratic history.

We believe that the Riksdag is inclined to make the decisions on which the Government submits proposals to the Riksdag.

A: The law of order is very blunt

Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren does not agree, but

She refers to the fact that it is the Pandemic Act that makes it possible to take infection control measures.

- If you remove the pandemic law, you can not decide on measures such as keeping your distance and that you should have a certain number in company, says Hallengren and continues:

- That was what we at the beginning of the pandemic were forced to have the law of order for.

It was very blunt and it was definitely not a good tool.

That's why we worked out the pandemic law.
