Izabella Tönnhed was born in Czechoslovakia, was placed in an orphanage where there was a shortage of food and clothes and was adopted as a four-year-old to Sweden.

Her childhood became difficult and she was eventually placed in a special school due to her dyslexia, she says.

- It has been a struggle to get back to society and to understand my surroundings.

Awarded by the Swedish Academy

A turning point came when she, as a special school student, signed up for a poetry competition arranged by the Swedish Academy.

She won a prize of SEK 5,000 which was awarded by the Academy's then permanent secretary Sture Allén.

In the clip, Izabella talks about the prize, what it has meant to her and about her book "Five clothespins in a bag - misplaced in special school".
