An 89-year-old man died in a road accident late Tuesday afternoon in Beaucé, near Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine).

His car came to fit into the gate of the cemetery of the town, where the victim was going with his wife.

According to the firefighters, the driver of the vehicle would have fainted while he was driving, propelling the car into the gate of the cemetery.

In cardiorespiratory arrest when help arrived, the 89-year-old man could not be revived by firefighters.

His wife, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was slightly injured.

The emergency services transported her to the hospital in Fougères.
