“The arguments that are used in the situation around RT DE, in our opinion, have little to do with some technical issues or legal problems.

Here everything clearly rests on one thing: you need to put as many sticks in the wheels as possible so that RT does not start working and broadcast in full, ”said Shafir.

According to him, the reasons for this were partly voiced at a press conference by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Because even at the moment, as Madam Minister said, RT DE, broadcasting only on the Internet, already occupies the fourth position.

Accordingly, the process must somehow be stopped,” he said.

On January 18, the Union of Journalists of Russia handed over to the head of the German Foreign Ministry an appeal regarding the situation with the broadcasting of RT DE in Germany.

Burbock herself, at a press conference with her Russian colleague Sergey Lavrov, said that the German government did not interfere in the work of RT DE.

In December 2021, it became known that the German media regulator MABB forced the European satellite operator Eutelsat 9B to remove RT DE broadcasting from studios in Moscow from its platform.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the disconnection of RT DE from satellite broadcasting, said that Germany was deliberately leading Russia to the need to take retaliatory measures.
