Paraguay president infected with covid-19

Paraguay's Health Ministry said on Twitter today, Tuesday, that the country's President Mario Abdo has tested positive for Covid-19 and is suffering from mild symptoms, at a time when the South American region is witnessing a significant increase in infections due to the mutated Omicron strain of the Corona virus.

"We announce that the results of the Covid-19 tests for President Mario Abdo were positive today," the ministry added.

"The president is experiencing mild symptoms and will continue his preventive isolation in accordance with current health protocols," she said.
