International oil prices rose to their highest level in seven years after Yemeni rebels attacked oil facilities in the UAE, a major oil-producing country, Reuters and Bloomberg reported.

On the London ICE Futures Exchange, Brent futures rose to $87.85 a barrel at one point during the day.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) also rose to $85.53 on the day.

This is the highest price since October 2014.

Yemeni rebel attacks on UAE oil facilities have raised concerns about supply disruptions, a geopolitical risk factor, Bloomberg said.

Goldman Sachs has raised its international oil price forecast by next year and predicted that the price of crude oil could rise to $100 a barrel.

Earlier, Yemeni rebels used drones to attack UAE Abu Dhabi International Airport and oil facilities.

UAE authorities say three workers at an oil facility have been killed and six others injured in an attack by rebels.
