Chadian opponent Tom Erdimi is alive, says his family

Tom Erdimi is alive.

His twin brother, Timane Erdimi, confirms this to RFI.

A nephew whom he trusts and who accompanied the President of the Transitional Military Council (TMC) Mahamat Idriss Déby to Egypt, was able to visit the Chadian opponent in the Cairo prison where he is being held.

The family had been without news since the end of 2020.

Our nephew found him fit and healthy.

He stayed with him for two hours (...) He told us that he had received instructions to follow the file until his total release.
