“The national government, through the Ministry of Health and Sports, has authorized the sale of the drug molnupiravir, which is used to treat COVID-19 and is recommended for patients with mild or moderate symptoms,” the Bolivian Ministry of Health said in a statement.

At the same time, it is noted that the medicine is not a full-fledged replacement for the coronavirus vaccine.

Earlier in Mexico, the federal health risk protection commission Cofepris approved the use of Merck's COVID-19 drug in the country.
