On Friday, May 28 last year, Jonathan Mohedano, an 18-year-old Spanish man, was killed by a train near Los Negrales station in Alpedrete (Madrid).

He had been drinking all afternoon with some friends in an abandoned farm

, which he reached after crossing the train tracks. Around 6:00 p.m. he argued with a friend and continued drinking until at 8:30 p.m. he ran out of the place telling his companions that he was going home. He was already very drunk. Around 9:00 p.m. he was run over by a train at the Cal road. He died instantly.

The investigation of the Civil Guard pointed out that

the young man died accidentally due to alcohol poisoning

, and ruled out that it was a suicide or that something strange had happened before his death. That was the conclusion after questioning five of the 20 young people who were with Jonathan, reviewing the video surveillance cameras in the area and examining a WhatsApp chat in which the friends with whom he had been drinking did not comment on anything unusual. In addition, the analyzes confirmed an acute intake of ethyl alcohol by Jonathan.

Finally, the case was archived by a court in Collado Villalba.

Seven months later, the mother of the deceased, who also lost her husband to Covid,

asks that the investigation be reopened,

since there is evidence that has not been analyzed.

The parent considers that some strange event occurred that day before her son was run over and does not even rule out that he was assaulted and left unconscious on the road.

Jonathan's family has hired the Balfagón y Chippirrás legal criminological office, which has prepared a brief before the judge with some of the

details that could have gone unnoticed in the first investigation.

According to the criminologist Carmen Balfagón, in the first investigations "the

statements were taken exclusively from five people out of the 20 who were in the bottle

."

For this reason, the family has asked that all those present in the bottle of the abandoned farm testify and that several people who were on the road that night take photos at the same time as the winding be investigated.

Place where the 18-year-old was killed by a train.

Another piece of evidence that could clarify the causes of Jonathan's death are the security cameras located at the intersection between highway 6 and the entrance to the Los Negrales station. According to Balfagon; "It is very striking that the videos that could record everything that happened were not viewed, and if they were seen, they do not appear in the summary." Likewise,

the young man had five broken fingers, three on his right hand and two on his left,

that they had nothing to do with the run over suffered by the convoy.

Alexandra, the mother, asks that: "the circumstances in which her only son appeared under the train be clarified and that if anyone saw something, say so."

There are other enigmatic events that happened that day.

Jonathan ran out of the place where he was drinking, leaving his jacket behind.

And his phone was found the next day by a young woman under a piece of wood on the train tracks.

According to the deceased's friends,

that afternoon Jonathan had an argument with another colleague

, who criticized him for getting too close to several of the girls, including his girlfriend.

"The fight ends in a fight without consequences, because both were very drunk," one of those present told the Civil Guard.

One of the friends said that it

was common for Jonathan to lie down on the floor looking up at the sky when he was drinking

and that perhaps he was able to do it again that time on the tracks, without noticing the arrival of the train.

Another colleague stated that Jonathan drank two liters of wine and glasses of Vodka and that he did not use drugs that day, although it was common for him to take ecstasy pills and MDMA, and to run away without telling anyone.

As a result of the tragic event, the Consistory of Alpedrete and Renfe agreed

to carry out a review of the entire section of road that crosses the town to improve its safety

and reinforce the fences.

This situation had already occurred in July 2014, when a train fatally ran over Laura, a 13-year-old resident of the municipality.
