The police and rescue services urge everyone who does not have to go into traffic to stay at home due to strong winds and ice.

There is also limited traffic on several roads due to fallen trees in both Kalmar and Kronoberg counties.

Among other things, trees have blocked the road on national road 23 south of Hultsfred, road 34 at the height of Södra Vi, road 40 east of Vimmerby, road 213 west of Loftahammar, on national road 23 east of Åseda and road 553 east of Angelstad.

Several single accidents have also been reported during Monday morning.

It is currently unknown if any person was injured.

Power outages and canceled trains

The strong winds have also caused several power outages.

In Kalmar County, just over 7,500 were without electricity on Monday morning.

Northern Öland has been hit the hardest during the night and in the morning there were still over 2000 subscribers without power in Borgholm municipality.

Other municipalities that are or have been without electricity are Hultsfred, Nybro, Högsby, Kalmar and Oskarshamn.

In Kronoberg County, just over 300 subscribers were without power in the morning and about half of them are in Växjö municipality.
