"The parties discussed a number of topical international topics with an emphasis on the problem of forming long-term legal guarantees of Russia's security in the context of past meetings with representatives of the United States and other NATO countries," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

 Ryabkov and the Chinese Ambassador also exchanged views on further deepening bilateral foreign policy coordination.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Russian and Chinese sides do not intend to build their friendly relations on the basis of confrontation with anyone.
