For several years, the safety risks at the train station in Laxå have been known.

This involves both increased safety for passengers and an improved working environment for staff, but the measures planned must also mean that the trains passing Laxå must be able to do so at the maximum permitted speed, ie 200km / h.

Not been prioritized

The Swedish Transport Administration has previously said that the station in Laxå has not been prioritized and that there have not been resources to implement the required changes.

It includes, among other things, a bridge over the tracks, widened platforms and a new 800 meter long track, so that freight traffic can meet inside the railway yard.

Citizens may like it

The Swedish Transport Administration's consultant is now working on producing a railway plan and a system document.

Residents of Laxå can also submit comments on the consultation document until 25 January.

However, there is still a long way to go until the shovel is put in the ground.

The forecast is that the work on the site will start in 2025 and be completed in 2027.
