The story of a Vietnamese man who was freed from being framed as a murderer 28 years after his death is heartbreaking.

If you add up the period from the time he was alive to the time he passed away, he had been pointed out as a murderer for 42 years.

According to local media VN Express on the 16th local time, public security in Binh Thuan Province in central Vietnam announced that they had found the true culprit of the murder of a woman in Ham Tan District in July 1980, 42 years after the incident occurred.

Public security has been designating a man named Beau Te as a suspect in the murder.

Immediately after the incident, the police identified Beau as a suspect and arrested him, but five months later, he was released due to insufficient evidence.

After that, Beau Te was always on the line of suspicion by the public security, and eventually died in 1994 at the age of 62.

However, even after Beau's death, the bereaved family had to live through years of suffering with the scarlet letters engraved with the words 'The Murderer's Family' and stinging eyes.

Meanwhile, Binh Thuan Public Security recently announced that they had found the real culprit, and it turned out that the culprit was none other than a relative of the victim.

Two years ago, the victim's son belatedly confessed that he knew the culprit, and the police conducted an investigation based on these statements and eventually caught the real culprit. It has been found that the relatives of the victim, who are the real culprits, have moved from place to place while using pseudonyms several times.

However, the statute of limitations for a murder case in Vietnam is 20 years, and the true culprit cannot be brought to trial because the statute of limitations for the case has already passed.

A public security official said, "We plan to make an official apology to Beau Te's family while compensating in accordance with relevant laws."

Beau Te's son (54), who heard the news that his father was freed from the accusation of a murderer after 42 years, said, "I have finally resolved the resentment of my father and his family."

This is a 'news pick'.
