Djokovic loses his legal battle and leaves Australia

World number one Novak Djokovic lost his last attempt to avoid being deported from Australia, at the end of an exciting legal confrontation over his failure to receive an anti-Coronavirus vaccine that destroyed his dreams of a record 21st Grand Slam title.

Djokovic expressed his "deep disappointment" that an Australian court refused to appeal the decision to cancel his visa, but he will comply with the decision and leave the country.

"I respect the court's decision and will cooperate with the relevant authorities regarding my exit from the country," he said.
