He noted that the attacks that took place "were a cover for more destructive actions that take place outside the public eye."

On January 14, it was reported that unknown people hacked into the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and posted on it a text with threats in Ukrainian, Polish and Russian.

The website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the resource of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and other Ukrainian state websites were also attacked.

U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said the cyberattack on the websites of Ukrainian ministries was reminiscent of "good old Russian methods."
