Israeli Finance Minister infected with Corona virus

Avigdor Lieberman

Israeli Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Saturday that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating, but continues to work from home.

"I feel fine and will isolate for the next few days," Lieberman added on Twitter.

Tests also confirmed Foreign Minister Yair Lapid's infection on Monday.

Lieberman is facing criticism for not providing more government aid to companies after the mutated Omicron strain of the coronavirus pushed infections in Israel to new heights.

In a clear response to these criticisms, Lieberman, 63, wrote on Twitter, "I will continue from home to pursue responsible economic policies, track data and plan for future steps."

On January 10, Lieberman published a picture of him receiving a fourth booster dose of an anti-Covid-19 vaccine.
