The head of Chad's Military Council, Mohamed Idriss Deby Itno, said that a delegation from his country is in the Qatari capital, Doha, to prepare for the start of a dialogue with the Chadian armed movements.

Deby confirmed in an interview with Al-Jazeera that the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, agreed to help the Chadian parties in dialogue and reconciliation.

He added that the expected dialogue in Qatar with the armed movements will allow negotiations to reach peace, and that the Chadian militants in Libya will return to their country and their weapons will be disarmed.

"We are very concerned about what is happening in Sudan because it may have repercussions on us," Deby said.

Yesterday, the government committee in charge of preparing for dialogue between the armed movements and the military council in Chad said that a delegation led by the Chadian Foreign Minister, Mohamed Zein Sharif, is holding consultations in Doha with Qatari officials to discuss ways to organize the dialogue hosted by Qatar.

The Committee stressed that the Chadian parties that will participate in this dialogue will decide to renounce violence and will work to pave the way for a comprehensive national dialogue.

In a statement, the committee added that another delegation was discussing in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, with a group of armed movements, ways to participate in the meeting to be hosted by Qatar.
