The story of a woman who had been blind for 15 years due to a doctor's misdiagnosis and regained her sight through surgery was released.

According to foreign media such as the British Mirror on the 11th local time, Connie Park, 59, who lives in Aurora, Colorado, USA, felt that her eyes were dim in 2003 and went to an ophthalmologist.

Doctors diagnosed Park with glaucoma and told him that he would soon go blind because he was inoperable.

Park explained the situation at the time, "At first, I didn't believe what the doctor said because I could see well, but after 3 weeks, my eyesight deteriorated rapidly. I lost 85% of my vision in 5 months."

“I was often lost or fell down stairs, and I always had to be with someone when cooking. There were times when I almost set a house on fire by mistake.”

Park tried to accept reality, such as learning Braille at a school for the blind, but never stopped doing outdoor activities that she enjoyed, such as ice skating, kayaking, and camping.

Fifteen years later, in 2018, a miraculous thing happened to Mr. Park. I accidentally went to another hospital and was diagnosed with cataracts. Unlike glaucoma, in which the already damaged optic nerve cannot be restored, cataracts can be restored through surgery and treatment.

Park underwent cataract surgery in November of that year and the results were successful. After surgery, he had a 2.0 in both eyes on an eye exam.

Park said, "When I took off the eye patch after surgery, the first thing I saw was the nurse's eyes and eyelashes.

He added, "I was angry and resentful of the doctor who made a misdiagnosis at the fact that I couldn't see for 15 years for no reason, but when I was able to see, all the anger in my heart disappeared."

Park, who has recovered his sight, said he is the happiest to see the faces of his family. He said, "My granddaughter, who was only 3 weeks old, has grown so much. My husband is still handsome even after 15 years. I fell in love once again."

He said, "I have to watch the moment when the flowers bloom and the leaves grow on the tree. I came to realize that watching all of this is very meaningful."
