A 46-year-old man died this Friday in a chain collision, which occurred on the A42 motorway near the town of Miribel (Ain), near Lyon.

The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. when a car, from which smoke was escaping, tried to crash into the side.

A truck and three other vehicles crashed into it, reveals Le Progrès.

Another person was seriously injured in the collision.

This is a 38-year-old man who had to be extricated.

Two other motorists were slightly injured and one escaped unscathed.

The motorway had to be cut in the Lyon-Geneva direction, which caused very heavy traffic jams.
