The Investigative Committee opened a case after the death of two workers in the fall of the elevator in the President Hotel in Moscow

This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the capital's head office of the Russian Investigative Committee.

“On this fact, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for Moscow under Art.

238 of the Criminal Code of Russia," Ivanova said.

According to her, investigators and criminologists are working at the scene.

Ivanova added that, according to preliminary data, two people died, the exact number of victims of the emergency is being established.

As the agency was informed in the managerial affairs of the President of Russia, in whose jurisdiction the hotel is located, two workers of the contracting organization died during routine maintenance of the elevator economy.

Earlier, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow confirmed information about two deaths in the fall of an elevator in the capital.
