towards Madrid

's Plaza de Olavide

.

In a guide to the favorite places in the world of the workers of the economic newspaper, the columnist praises the tranquility of the center of Madrid: "Here is the European dream."

"Mornings in Madrid can be cold", Kuper starts his text, "but at Spanish lunchtime (at 3:00 pm, approximately), the autumn sun shines and we are at 20ºC".

Sitting in the central square, the writer takes an albariño.

"As in the best Spanish squares, there is a playground in the middle, so that parents can de-stress while the children go crazy," he says.

"Beautiful bourgeois apartments rise before us. The adjacent streets are pedestrianized, so the center of Madrid is as quiet as possible."

While enjoying a three-course meal of the day for "a ridiculous 13 euros, more or less," Kuper reflects: "At times like this,

Spain

is the most livable country in the world. Here is the European dream."
