The spread of the coronavirus has reached record levels.

New restrictions came as late as Tuesday and after that, several organizers in Jokkmokk's market have reacted.

Craftsman has set up.

The Church of Sweden has announced that it is canceling its planned lectures, performances and cafe activities.

The churches in Jokkmokk will not be open for visits.

Other indoor organizers will make decisions during the week on how to do it.

"Would rather have put it upside down"

But the municipality still insists that they want to carry out a safe winter market outdoors - and they are now facing harsh criticism.

One thing we can be absolutely sure of is that we will have a fairly explosive spread after a market like this, says professor of infectious diseases and chief physician, Björn Olsen.

Should you set, do you think?

- I would rather have seen it put on hold for another year, but I do not think it is possible to stop it now.

People are really tired of this pandemic.

"Implementing the market without spreading infection is impossible"

Jokkmokk municipality is responsible for the outdoor market, and outdoors there are currently no restrictions.

The municipality has meetings before the market with the region's infection control unit and the county administrative board.

- To complete the market without the spread of infection is impossible.

It is important to do everything possible to make it as infectious as possible.

It will be a lot of work for the organizers.

No matter what they do, they will receive criticism, says Anders Nystedt, infection control doctor in Norrbotten.
