It is an evening that is difficult to pass.

To celebrate the New Year, a group of Canadian influencers and reality TV personalities gathered on a party plane to Cancun (Mexico), reports

On the images posted on social networks, we see them dancing, drinking, smoking, all without wearing a mask.

For their part, the Canadians were confined to their homes and were not allowed to wake up together in order to limit the spread of the Omicron variant.

The images thus sparked a great controversy and angered Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister.

“When a gang of no-designs [a bunch of idiots] decide to go on vacation like Ostrogoths, it's extremely frustrating and demoralizing,” he said.

Big fine and loss of job

For some participants in this celebration, the return to Canada was difficult, adds

Some were stranded for several days in Mexico because no airline company wanted to take them on board.

Others have paid the equivalent of 500,000 euros in fines or even lost their jobs.

At the same time, Canada has decided to tighten the screw against the unvaccinated.

From January 18, they will not be able to buy alcohol or cannabis, over the counter in this country, without showing their vaccination passport.

The measure could be extended to other businesses.

"We will make sure that they understand very well that, if they do not want to be vaccinated, they stay at home," said Christian Dubé, the Quebec Minister of Health.

And the government has even gone further: people who lose their jobs because they are not vaccinated will no longer be able to receive unemployment benefit.

According to him, it is a question of responsibility.
