Beaten for 15 hundredths of a second, the Slovakian Petra Vlhova has all the same already ensured the small globe of the specialty.

The German Lena Dürr took 3rd place at 93/100, her 3rd podium of the winter.

Shiffrin, on Tuesday night, won a 73rd World Cup victory, the 47th in slalom: she now holds at 26 the absolute record for the most victories in a single discipline, ahead of the legendary Swedish Ingemar Stenmark (46 giants ).

Very moved, Mikaela Shiffrin let go of her tears when she understood that she would win this Schladming slalom.

Only 5th in the first round, she had time to see her rivals fail against her time (best time on the 2nd track) to heighten the emotion.

Even the best slalom woman in the world today, Slovakian Petra Vlhova, had to lose by nothing, having won five of the previous six slaloms.

Vlhova can console herself with the little crystal globe she ensures when there are only two World Cup slaloms left in March (she has 220 points more than Shiffrin, the victory is worth 100 points).

"I cry a lot. It's such a privilege to ski on this track. I feel like I deserve it, it's very special to ski here", commented Shiffrin hot.

"Special" because it is in this finish area that she became world champion for the first time in 2013 (down an adjoining track).

“Special” again, because this track of the “Planai”, which hosts the craziest men's slalom almost every winter, was offered for the first time on the women's circuit.

While they have won 39 of the last 42 World Cup slaloms, the next episode of the formidable Shiffrin / Vlhova duel in slalom will take place on February 9 at the Olympic site in Yanqing (China).

Shiffrin already won the supreme title in 2014, Vlhova is still looking for her first Olympic medal.
