A "high-caliber surprise" in the case of offending the relationship between Kuwait and Egypt

In its first court session, the Kuwaiti Criminal Court decided to postpone the trial of the President of the Information Security Association, Dr.

Safaa Zaman to the February 15 session to present the defense.

The session witnessed a "high-caliber surprise", as described by the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas, where the defense of Dr. Safaa, the lawyer Ali Al-Sabri, asked the judge to turn the next session into "secret" in order to enable him to display the documents he owned via a "projector" screen inside the courtroom.

The session also witnessed the judge’s questioning of Dr. Zaman about three state security charges directed at her by the prosecution, which are: causing panic, influencing international relations and raising news that diminishes the prestige of the state, but Zaman denied them altogether.

Zaman said that she did not intend to offend the relationship between Kuwait and Egypt, when she indicated that the information concerning Kuwaiti employees is present in Egypt, and that her motive was the love of the homeland and the preservation of its secrets.

It is noteworthy that the lawsuit was filed by the President of the Civil Service Bureau, Dr.

Maryam Al-Aqeel, and demanded that legal measures be taken, as Dr.

Safaa Zaman by the State Security Agency, and after interrogation, she was referred by the Public Prosecution, and from there to the Criminal Court after her release on a financial guarantee.
