Åre municipality closes primary schools for three days due to bad weather

From Wednesday 12 January to Friday 14 January, the schools in Åre municipality will be closed.

In a message, the municipality writes on Tuesday evening:

"Due to the expected difficult weather situation with ice, precipitation and strong winds, our primary schools in Åre municipality will be closed on Wednesday 12 January, Thursday 13 January and Friday 14 January."

Furthermore, Åre municipality writes:

“The chairman of the Children and Education Committee, in his capacity as principal of Åre Municipality's compulsory schools, has made the decision to close.

No school transport will be carried out these days.

Care (after-school center-like activities) is only offered to those pupils whose guardians work in socially important activities and only to pupils in pre-school class up to year 6 (6–12 years). ”
