In May last year, police scouts witnessed how a man was shot in the Råbergstorp district in Eskilstuna.

At the end of December, a 35-year-old man, who had been singled out as a criminal gang leader in Eskilstuna, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempted murder by the Court of Appeal.

Two detainees - one in his absence

But the police investigation into the incident has not stopped with the judgment of the Court of Appeal.

On Friday, a man in his 20s was arrested on probable cause on suspicion of aiding and abetting an attempted murder.

- I can not say much more about the circumstances.

I have already said that more people may be involved in this case, says Chief Prosecutor Marcus Ekman.

According to him, a second man in his 20s has also been arrested on suspicion of the same crime.

- We have not got hold of that person yet.

He is in custody in his absence, says Marcus Ekman.

More to do in the investigation

He can not comment on when a possible indictment against the man who was arrested on Friday can be submitted to the district court.

- There are several investigative efforts left that must be made before there can be talk of a possible prosecution, he says.
