Kuwait Civil Service Bureau: suspension of fingerprinting and return of exemptions

Today, Monday, the Civil Service Commission in Kuwait issued a new circular that includes reducing the workforce in government agencies by no more than 50 percent, applying flexible systems, hours and working hours, and holding meetings, conferences and courses through remote communication.

The Diwan confirmed in a statement that the implementation of these circulars will start from Wednesday, January 12, 2022, noting that this comes in compliance with the decisions of the Council of Ministers issued today.

He said that the new circular decided to continue cases of exemption from work in accordance with what was decided in the Service Bureau Circular No. (13) of 2020 regarding the guide to policies, procedures and rules for the gradual return to work approved by the Council of Ministers, except for the case of those who reached the age of 55 years, as they continue to work.

He added that it was decided to implement what was previously proven that each government agency determines its working hours and times in accordance with the requirements of the public interest with the application of rotation, according to what was explained in the Service Bureau circular No. (14) for the year 2020 regarding government agencies taking the necessary executive measures to implement a policy guide Procedures and rules for the gradual return to work.

He also explained that it was decided to stop the fingerprint work system, provided that attendance and departure were proven by signing the statements prepared by each party. It was also decided to confirm adherence to the health and preventive requirements established by the competent health authorities.

He stated that the Ministry of Health, with its knowledge, will organize its work rules and the work of its employees in accordance with the requirements of the public interest.
