After a woman without a residence permit was detained when she cleaned Magdalena Andersson's (S) home, the security protection around the Prime Minister has been questioned.

Now the head of the Security Police, Charlotte von Essen, comments on the incident in a press release.

"I can understand that as it has been reported about the incident, it raises questions.

For the Security Police, it is not possible to go into details when it comes to the security of our security personnel, but of course the Prime Minister's security is of the highest priority, ”says Security Police Chief Charlotte von Essen.

Alarm was triggered

It was on December 21 that the woman was detained after an alarm was accidentally triggered in Andersson's private home in Nacka, which Expressen was the first to report.

Andersson should not have been living in the home at the time, but moved to the Prime Minister's residence Sagerska huset on 18 December, Andersson's temporary press secretary Toni Eriksson announces.

It is unclear who is actually responsible for what happened.

The Government Offices believes that it is only responsible for agreements on services in "for example the authority's premises, including the Prime Minister's official housing."

"For questions about the protection of the central government, please refer to the Security Police", the Government Offices states in a written comment to SVT News.

Has been criticized

According to security expert Dick Malmlund, there is no other player than Säpo who can handle similar cases and he directs sharp criticism at their work.

- It is inconceivable and scandalous that a wanted person has been able to move freely in Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson's private home.

Säpo says that for security reasons it is not possible to comment on the individual incident or what measures have been taken, but points out that they make "ongoing assessments" about the safety of a protected person.

"We will also review whether there is a need for rule changes, which we will then return with," says Charlotte von Essen.
