The Quartet welcomes the United Nations declaration on Sudan
The Sudan Quartet (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States of America) welcomed the announcement of the Secretary-General of the United Nations that the United Nations Integrated Mission to Support the Transitional Phase in Sudan (UNMIS) is facilitating discussions to resolve the political crisis in Sudan.
It indicated its strong support for the United Nations-facilitated Sudanese Dialogue Initiative.
It also urged all Sudanese political parties to seize this opportunity to restore the country's transition to civil democracy, in line with the 2019 Constitutional Declaration.
She expressed her aspiration that this process will be towards achieving the desired results in the country's orientation to democratic elections, in line with the aspirations of the Sudanese people for freedom, democracy, peace, justice and prosperity.
