The Egyptian investigation authorities decided to imprison the famous businessman, Muhammad Al-Amin, for 4 days, pending investigations in a case related to his accusation of human trafficking and the assault of some girls in an orphanage owned by them in Beni Suef governorate, south of the capital, Cairo.

According to the Egyptian (governmental) newspaper Al-Ahram, the Public Prosecution charged the Secretary in case No. 188 of 2022, accusations of assaulting some girls in orphanages established by the aforementioned. The prosecution also requested investigations by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Illegal Immigration Department about the incident.

Sources who followed the investigations with Al-Amin revealed to the "Akhbar Al-Youm" (governmental) portal that the investigation authorities listened to the statements of the accused, and confronted him with the charges against him, which led to his arrest.

The accused said in the investigations that he did not commit the charges against him of attempting to indecently defile orphaned children from the inmates of the home owned by him.

After the investigations ended, the investigation authorities ordered the summoning of “Doaa” to hear her statements, and the investigation authorities also ordered the renewal of the accused on the specified date.

"Missing Children"

The "Akhbar Al-Youm" portal revealed that a Facebook page called "Missing Children" is behind the complaint that was submitted against the Egyptian businessman two months ago, after they monitored complaints and violations of children inside the care home.

She explained that this page provided videos and photos to the concerned authorities revealing what Muhammad Al-Amin had committed against the children, and that the concerned authorities were examining those videos and photos to reveal the circumstances of the incident.

The page also published a leaflet in which it confirmed that it had submitted the communication to fulfill its promise to the orphaned girls who pleaded with her to stand behind them, and thanked the Attorney General that the investigations did not stop during the last period, and promised to publish the details of the incident at a later time.

For its part, the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity issued a statement on its official Facebook page, in which it said that it confronts with full force and decisiveness any violations in social welfare institutions, and that it took the initiative to inform the Public Prosecution about the incident of the Trustworthy Hands Foundation.

The statement announced the closure of the institution, after discovering violations for which the law will be held accountable; The Ministry took the initiative to inform the Public Prosecution of the incident after coordinating with the concerned authorities, and it was not able to announce the size of the violations in compliance with the progress of the investigation, and the matter is now under investigation by the Public Prosecution.

Who is Muhammad Al-Amin?

It is worth noting that Muhammad Al-Amin, a famous businessman close to the current authority, is the founder of the CBC network, and he also owns the Modern network.

Al-Amin was a partner in both "Al-Nahar" and "Al-Nahar Drama" channels. He also served on the board of directors of the "Amer Group" real estate company, and co-owned several private newspapers.
