Amid the spread of the Omicron mutation, the birthday party of 20 Hong Kong legislators and dozens of government officials is growing.

As the so-called 'Neambul' party, 13 high-ranking officials of the Hong Kong government, including ministerial level, and 20 lawmakers were simultaneously detained in quarantine facilities, sparking criticism in the local area.

Hong Kong's health authorities announced yesterday (8th) that there were two confirmed cases of Corona 19 at this party, and accordingly, all 170 attendees will be put in quarantine for 21 days.

The attendees' families were also quarantined for four days.

The party in question was to celebrate the birthday of Whitman Heng, one of the Hong Kong delegates of the National People's Congress of China.

Photos of Hung and many other attendees at the party singing, eating and drinking without masks went viral on social media.

The party was attended by about 30 government officials, including top officials, and 20 lawmakers.

There are 12,865 cumulative COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong, of which 223 have been infected with the Omicron mutation.
