"Blinken and Borrell discussed bilateral and multilateral diplomatic contacts in connection with Russia's proposals regarding the Russian vision of security mechanisms in Europe," RIA Novosti quotes the text of the statement.

The parties also noted that all discussions on European security will be held in coordination with the EU.

Earlier, Blinken said that a number of Russia's security requirements were unrealizable.

On January 10, US First Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will hold talks on strategic stability in Geneva with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

On January 12, a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council will take place.

The Russian Foreign Ministry will be represented at the meeting by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.

On January 13, the Russia-OSCE talks will take place in Vienna.
