QUESTION: double winner of the giant Adelboden last year, how do you take this podium after the disappointment of Alta Badia (15th and 18th during the two giants)?

ANSWER: "It's nice, but it's still far from perfect. I'm happy to be on the podium, now we have to keep trying to progress and improve. There is a bit of time before the Games, and I hope to take that time to try and catch up with Marco - because the only one who is really in his world is Marco. Even with a foul he happens to have about the same time as me ( in the second round, editor's note), so you have to try to work on the things that are not yet going perfectly, and build on those that are working well. If I can try to find certain things to go even faster, it's the goal now. "

Q: The icy conditions in Adelboden are fine for you.

What are the conditions that still require work from you, and have you opted for longer skis like some competitors?

A: "It's going to be relatively fresh snow like in Alta Badia, not necessarily very compact but aggressive, cold, dry, a bit like what we have at the Games. There, I'm developing a second + setting + (equipment , editor's note), but today I did not dare to take it because it was too icy. I did not ski once in these conditions in training ".

Q: A word about Victor Muffat-Jeandet, who broke his ankle on the very degraded track in Zagreb, during the slalom finally canceled on Thursday, and who will be deprived of the Games?

A: "Obviously, there is anger. I am very sad because Victor is my Olympic colleague, generally we are together from start to finish (of the Olympics, editor's note), and it broke my heart. Victor is a tough guy, someone who rarely complains, and today he paid the price. Croatia put enormous pressure, which is absolutely unacceptable. We saw them do it and it was up to the International Ski Federation (FIS) to decide (to cancel the race rather than trying to hold it in dangerous conditions, editor's note). They can consult the athletes, but there must also be people who can decide And in the preparation of the pistes, the FIS is rarely very coherent: sometimes it's very good, sometimes it's average, and when it's very good, it is rarely they who areoccupy ".
